Training & Experience

I completed my training and qualified as a Counsellor in 2006 and began work with young people and adults in local schools. I also worked in a youth organisation on a voluntary basis until 2012. At this point I started my own private practice working with adults on a short term or long term basis depending on their individual needs. In 2015 I also joined the Steps 2 Wellbeing Counselling Service in Bournemouth where I continue to work on a part time basis in addition to my private practice.  I currently see adult clients of varied ages who come from a range of backgrounds.

Throughout the period from 2009 to 2013 I continued to study gaining my degree in counselling and achieving BACP Accreditation.

Clients I have worked with have had a range of issues including abortion, abuse, anxiety, bereavement, bullying, depression, low self-esteem, relationship problems, self harm, sexuality, stress and other issues.

My aim is to provide an environment which feels warm, welcoming and safe enough for you to be able to talk about the things that are causing you concern and explore your feelings around them, without feeling judged.

In order to maintain client safety, I have membership of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy which outlines an Ethical Framework of Good Practice for Counselling and Psychotherapy that all members must adhere to.  There is a link to their website on the Links page.
